Pageant Week - Day 1

The week kicked of with an orientation, where contestants learned about the activities for the week and had a chance to finally meet one another in person. After the orientation everyone headed over to Margaritaville at the Westgate City Center. There contestants and queens ate some great fcod and had even better conversations. I am really excited about spending the week with such amazing women from around the world!

Miss Arizona Pageant

On June 16th, I attended the Miss Arizona Pageant to show my support for two of my pageant sisters, Andrea and Melody. Andrea won several awards and Melody made the top 5, I am so proud of both of their accomplishments.

Jennifer Sedler won the title of Miss Arizona, congratulations and good luck at Miss America!

Father of the Year Awards

On June 16th, I volunteered my time at the Father of the Year Awards which benefits the American Diabetes Association. This year I had the pleasure of working in the kids room. I had a blast chatting with the kids that were there and playing the wii.

IMS Arizona Marathon

This morning I got up bright and early, okay so it wasn't very bright but it was definitely early, to volunteer at the IMS Arizona Marathon. The first hour of my morning was spent at the 5K Registration, this was probably my favorite hour since the registration was located inside where it was nice and warm. After we were done with the registration we headed over to the finish line to cheer on the runners and hand out medals. Let's just say the weather was not cooperating very much. It started out a little chilly, which is fine after all it is winter. Then it started to sprinkle a little, not too much just a light drizzle for about 20 minutes, then the sun actually came out. Unfortunately, the sun didn't stick around for too long...a big dark rain cloud brought quite a bit of rain our way and we didn't have umbrellas! Although from what I heard a number of the runners liked the rain since it helped to cool them off. We lasted at the finish line until 11:15 (waited to see Cyndee cross) then my mom said it was time to head home and warm up, by that point my lips had turned a little blue and my feet were numb. Overall, it was a great morning and it was inspiring to see so many people finishing the half and full marathons.

Hope the sash and crown are waterproof because we're getting a little wet!

Glendale Chocolate Affaire

On February 5th, I attended the Glendale Chocolate Affaire, this was my first time going there and lets just say the chocolate was amazing. Not to fond of the crowds, it was more packed then Disneyland on a summer day.

I made a chocolate pizza at the Cerreta's booth and bought some Mackinac Island fudge from Mr. Fudge's booth.

After that I was on chocolate overload and ready to head home :)

PF Chang's Kid's Rock

Bright and early on January 15th, we volunteered at the PF Chang's Kids Rock Event. We had the pleasure of greeting the kids as they got off the busses, then we directed them to the other volunteers that would help them get across the street.

It was a rather chilly morning, especially when we ended up standing in the shade of the busses. Wish we would have brought jackets instead of just sweatshirts.

Always looking for that silly photo...

...don't think we're getting on the backs of these horses anytime soon!

The kids lined up and ready to run!!

Always gotta get a picture with Howler, after all he's the mascot for my favorite hockey team!!
